French electronic music producer Etienne De Crécy was born in Lyon but moved to Paris in the mid 1980s, attending the same college as
Air and
Alex Gopher, with whom he later created the (now defunct) Disques Solid label. His first album from 1998, '
Super Discount', was hugely influential in defining a new French club music sound, and its follow-up, 2004's '
Super Discount 2', continued its success in a slightly more electronic vein. Etienne De Crécy recently founded the
Pixadelic label for reissues of his classics and new recordings.
