Making music since 1989, Donnacha Costello discovered electronic minimalism in 1996 and has since established himself as one of Ireland's most respected underground artists. Deep and introspective house music alternates with 70s influenced electronica in Costello's work, and consequently his music has appeared both on techno labels like Poker Flat as well as on experimental imprints like Raster-Noton.

The EP Before We Say Goodbye - The Remixes was reviewed:
Lawrence weaves ghostly strings into the characteristic hook line of 'Leaving Berlin', while Kink & Neville Watson put their distinct old-school flavour to work with their take on 'It's What We Do'. Sweet remixes for two highlights of Costello's recent album!

The Album Before We Say Goodbye was reviewed:
With releases on labels as different as Raster-Noton and Poker Flat, Dublin's Donnacha Costello is an exceptional artist. For 'Before We Say Goodbye' he limits himself to three analogue synthesizers for an organic sound between warm and soulful Detroit techno and 70s style synth epics. Marvellous.
