After a few years of experimenting with different equipment and styles, from Gabber over digital hardcore to electronica, Leipzig's Jan Gleichmar a.k.a. Disrupt came to love dub and reggae with all his heart. In 1998 he met Rootah at a construction site they were both working on, and a few years later the two started the Jahtari label, dedicated to the fusion of lo-fi chiptune sounds and dub reggae. Besides his work for Jahtari, Disrupt has recorded his 'Foundation Bit' album for Actress' widely respected Werk Discs label.

Known from his 'Foundation Bit' album for Actress' great Werk Discs imprint, Disrupt perfectly shows off his 'digital laptop reggae' philosophy on 'The Bass Has Left the Building' on his own Jahtari label. Chiptune samples meet 8-bit drums and some deep smoked out dub vibes. Brilliant!
