This wildcat comes out of the infamous Cidade de Deus (City of God) and is franticly adored both by the ladies, to whom she represents the Carioca funk style, and the boys, who she is known to intimidate and provoke at the same time. Deize Tigrona was working as a maid when Diplo used her song 'Injeção' as the basis for M.I.A.'s 'Bucky Done Gone'. After the song became a hit, Diplo and M.I.A. hooked up with Deize and helped her getting her career rolling. These days she is able to support her family by doing her music and rarely plays in Rio any more. Recently she has been working with Lisboa's Buraka Som Sistema or The Bug and teamed up with Diplo again for the track 'Bandida'. Over this punk rock version of baile funk Deize shouts out a warning to all the females who try to steal a married man. The B Side is a track produced by husband husband DJ Rafael. Deize Tigrona also featured in the documentary 'Sou Feia Mas To Na Moda', which is a investigation of the post-feminist survival tactics of female Funk MCs.
