In a Congolese basement bar down a Paris side-street is where you'd normally find Xavier Thomas a.k.a. Débruit dropping beats, but after recent releases for hipster labels Musique Large and Civil Music he's been on the body poppin' all over Europe and the UK. His style is futuristic hip-hop/r'n'b at its core, but liberal use of electro, grime and glitch elements make his music sit comfortably side-by-side with productions Joker, Mr. Oizo, Hudson Mohawke or Flying Lotus.

Crossing over wonky hip-hop, electro funk, grime and African rhythms, Parisian producer Débruit has delivered a real slammer with his 'Spatio Temporel EP', a great follow-up to last years 'Let's Post Funk' mini album. Hipsters take note, this man is about to blow up big time.

I don’t know to call it bad or superb timing from Débruit and his label Civil Music. But while the whole world is living in winter wonderland, Débruit leads us on a diverse and engaging journey through an incredible array of rhythms and influences from the sunny global village. His new EP Spatio Temporel feels like a sweaty bus ride from the local fish market to a upper class mid-summer cocktail party.
