On his latest mini album Ed DMX once again takes his favourite analogue machines out for a spin. Six tracks of quirky, retro-futuristic electro, with 'Chi Sygni' standing out as one of the finest pieces we have heard from Mr. Upton in a while. Recommended.

Ed DMX on an electronica tip this time around, with braindance melodies and more abstract beats dominating the majority of his 'BRK59' EP. Tracks like 'TR808 Echo Beats' might proove a bit too brooding for the electro pop crowd, but fans of early Squarepusher and AFX will absolutely dig this.

Four pieces in a more classic electro vein than DMX Krew's simultaneous outing on Permanent Vaccation, 'That Was Harder Than I Expected' nevertheless has Ed Upton's talent for sentimental pop melodies shine through its spares and funky grooves.
