One of the most prominent figures in Chicago's second wave of house music producers, Carlos Sosa, better known as DJ Sneak, has become famous for his characteristic style of hard-hitting filtered disco house, which he hajs been releasing since the early 1990s on prominent labels such as Strictly Rhythm. Born in Puerto Rico, Sosa moved to Chicago in 1983, where he found inspiration in underground house music, warehouse parties and 'old school' mix tapes from the early pioneers of Chicago house. He focused on music production early on, setting up his first label, Defiant, and eventually landing a deal with Cajmere's influential Relief label. His unique style has led to a lasting career and continued popularity as a DJ, producer and remix artist.

With a tracklist reading like a handbook on domestic violence, we can be assured the only thing DJ Sneak is hitting hard are relentless house grooves. Infectious tracks with twisted hints of funk and disco, with 'Assault on You (Poundin Mix)' jacked to the max and 'Beat Some Sense Into You' a pulsating euphoric workout.
