Gertjan Schonewille, a.k.a. DJ Madskillz, developed his enthusiasm for music when he first encountered the hip hop and electro sound in 1985, later discovering house music by visiting club RoXY in Amsterdam in 1989. Together with Dylan Hermelijn (a.k.a. 2000 and One) Schonewille started the influential Edge of Motion project in the early 90s and has been a part of Amsterdam's techno scene ever since.
