Originating from Chicago' South Side, DJ Deeon made a name for himself with his early releases for the city's legendary Dancemania label: Tracks like "Akceler-8" or "Da Bomb" helped define the ghetto house sound of a new generation of Chicago producers, at a time when former Dancemania artists like Hercules, Lil' Louis or Robert Armani had already moved off into the established house or techno scenes. Fast and percussive, rough and analogue, often explicitly sexual, always bouncy and straight to the point are the traits defining DJ Deeon's style, to which he has remained true to this day with more then 50 releases to his name. He is currently signed to DJ Godfather's Databass label, which is rereleasing most of his back catalog with new remixes.
