Franki Juncaj a.k.a. DJ 3000 started out as a member of Detroit's Submerge crew and UR's Assault DJ Squad. In 2001 he started Motech Records with the vision of joining Detroit's high-tech funk with the Balkan rhythms of his Albanian heritage. The Maxi-Single Her Smile Remixes was reviewed:
A fine slice of Detroit techno from Motech's DJ 3000: 'Her Smile' is a deep and dreamy piece, which gets an up-tempo, 'Knights of the Jaguar'-style treatment by UR's Mark Flash, a lush rework by Esteban Adame (Ican), and a banging techno remix by Shawn Rudiman. Nice!
