Combing traditional Basque music with heavy dance rhythms, Crystal Fighters are one of the hottest new bands to emerge from East London. The roots of this five piece lie in Navarre, Spain, a region with a unique musical culture of dances and songs handed down through generations and played on traditional instruments like the wood block txalapartas. Not unlike bands like Buraka Som Systema or CSS, Crystal Fighters grab the primal energy of folk music and time-warp it into the future via a variety of modern influences.
