One of the most influential space-rock groups of the 1970s, Cluster were originally founded by Dieter Moebius, Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Conrad Schnitzler under the name Kluster. When Schnitzler left the group, Moebius and Roedelius continued the band as a duo with frequently changing collaborators, such as Brian Eno, Holger Czukay, or legendary producer Conny Plank, who joined Cluster for their self-titled debut release in 1971 and worked closely with the group until his death in 1987. Moebius and Roedelius recorded some of the most important albums of the era, both as Cluster and as solo artists with variying line-up, such as the 'Krautrock supergroup' Harmonia with Neu!'s Michael Rother.
