Hailing from Chicago and founded by Tom Lunt, Rob Sevier, and Ken Shipley in 2003, the Numero Group is a record label that boasts at having no fixed 'sound' and, instead, claims to offer an aesthetic. This aesthetic, ironically, comes in the form of having little to no form (as far as what type of music Numero releases), and its artists converge upon only one point--though critical that point is: their music has hardly been heard by anyone--until now. Spanning a mix of thrift shop soul, skinny tie pop, Belizean funk, hillbilly gospel, soul, and disco, etc, Numero's library is a healthy mix out of left field and its artists like Baby Neal & The Smart Brothers, L.T. & The Soulful Dynamics, and Chocolate Snow, to name just a few, are getting an opportunity to showcase their talents to a new generation of listeners.
