London dub step producer and purveyor of the finest dub from his closet sized Dub Shack store in Camden Market, Dougie Wardrop, formed Conscious Sounds not long after he first began producing his own dub tracks in 1989. Conscious Sounds first introduction to the world of dub came with roots singer Tina Stelin who voiced Dougie's hit single 'Can't Touch Jah.' Label mainstays the Bush Chemists (comprised of Dougie and partner Paul Davey) have separated themselves from the pack by releasing numerous quality 12-inch singles, being featured on several mix albums, and by working with such singers as Barry Isaacs, Hughie Isaachar, and Stephen Wright.
