FIRM was founded in 1998 by Thomas Schaeben and Heiko Voss to give all their Cologne based musician friends a platform and a network to develop their own special style. They also release together as Schaeben&Voss or solo as Heiko Voss or t0MBo on FIRM, Kompakt and other different labels. The not only dance orientated roots of both and their unfixed label philosophy created a special mix of unique releases. In the meantime originally FIRM artists as Singer Schad Privat, Andr© Kraml, Geiger/Nass, Popnoname, and Dirk Leyers are pretty well known through all kind of collaborations, remixes and releases on FIRM and other labels. Strictly beside all drawers and the so called Cologne sound FIRM developed to a totally unintentionally trendy label with international collaborations and distribution deals with Kompakt, Groove Attack and Rough Trade and now, digitally, EPM. Latest release is the Album E=dC2 by Eric D. Clarke and the withcoming 12" single "The DJ Song" with Remixes of Move D and Hans Nieswandt.

David Boswell has worked with artists like Phil Oakey and Roots Manuva, and this accomplished album, 'Bits & Pieces', makes it clear from the outset that the man knows what he's doing. Expect finest techno pop with excursions into synth-pop, deep house, and downbeat.
