One of Detroit's constants Blake Baxter has been around for far more than two decades providing the dancefloors with his perception of finest house and techno tunes. He was one of the first DJs to bring the underground sound to Detroit clubs, fusing alternative, D.O.R with acid house and dance. In 1985, Blake signed (as the first artist from Detroit) with the record label DJ International, based in Chicago and released two tracks entitled 'In This House We Jack' and 'Work Your Body'. At this time being a renowned DJ in the city and starting to spread further he also made records for KMS Records and Incognito Records, both from Detroit. In 1990, Blake released yet another classic four track techno EP on the Underground Resistance label. He was the first artist to release his own EP on the UR label and also the first on KMS. In 1990, Blake started to tour in Europe as a DJ and live act. Blake has toured with Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson and Underground Resistance, Juan Atkins, Joey Beltram and Jeff Mills. After a world tour with the Underground Resistance in the early 90s he spent some time during the long gone great times in Berlin where he produced songs like 'One more time', 'Brothers gonna work it out' and for Tresor Records his first album 'Dream Sequence one thru three'.
