Black Meteoric Star is the solo project of Rhode Island born musician, producer and artist Gavin Russom, appearing on New York's well respected DFA label. Russom's creative drive first expressed itself in his teen age years, when he took to experimenting with drone noises and feedback loops together with his cousin Kelley Polar. His fascination with experimental noise music can still be heard in Russom's music today along with influences from early Chicago acid house by the likes of Phuture and Adonis. After 8 years of living in New York City, Russom has recently relocated to Berlin, Germany, finding new inspiration in European disco music, as well as psychedelic rock.
