No one sounds quite like Toronto's Stuart Li at the moment, who is better known under the name of Basic Soul unit. His tracks take modern and old-school house influences and feeds them through what sounds like a massive array of tube-amps to arrive at a unique crunchy sound aesthetics. With unique imprints like Versatile Records, Ostgut Ton and Philpot on the list of labels he records for, there's no denying the unique appeal of Stuart Li's rough and soulful productions.
