Santiago's most prominent electronic musician might well be German-born Uwe Schmidt, better know as Atom Heart, Atom TM, Señor Coconut and a trillion of other pseudonyms, under which he has been recording since the mid 80s. His musical style is impossible to pin-point, having recorded in every conceivable genre, from industrial over ambient to acid house, techno and electronic pop. Picking up the feeling of Latin American music after his move to Chile in the late 90s, he more accidentally than by intention achieved pop-star status with his Señor Coconut project, covering Kraftwerk songs in a Latin music style.

Presented as a sequel to 2009's 'Liedgut', the multi-monikered Uwe Schmidt references the Romanticism of Schubert's forlorn journey. Icily carved melodies and achingly detailed textures, sampled piano reworked with his skilled electronics but the delicate, emotional atmosphere remains - very beautiful stuff.
