In 1998 Aril Brikha put his name down in the book of techno history: His track 'Groove La' Chord' off his debut EP 'Art Of Vengeance' still stands tall as a timeless techno classic, utilizing chord stabs and subtle changes of intensity to maximum effect. By no means a one hit wonder, Brikha has since released his debut album 'Deeparture in Time' on Detroit's legendary Transmat label, toured the world with his mentor Derrick May and released on Kompakt, Poker Flat, and London's Peacefrog label, where his album 'Ex Machina' appeared in 2007.

A remastered version of Aril Brikha's remarkable debut album demonstrates the admirable timeless quality of his productions ten years on. Alongside the original tracks, the release includes ten unreleased tracks recorded between 1995-99, which includes plentiful gems, 'Fuknit' and 'Us' amongst them. Staggering.

Germany's inimitable magazine for music, media, culture and self discipline, De:Bug, presents one selected album for a special price each month. Cristian Vogel likes it up close when it comes to his fan base. It might not be the largest under the rave-sun, but what it lacks in size it makes more...
