Anthony 'Shake' Shakir is often cited as being one of the most underrated producers in the history of Techno. He helped shaping Metroplex Records by taking on the role as A&R Manager as well as recording together with Derrick May and Carl Craig on the label's first releases. He later teamed up with Keith Tucker to form Puzzlebox Records and his own imprint Frictional.

Shake has also been one of the first Detroit techno artists to fully embrace the beat editing possibilities of digital production, evident e.g. on the mind-blowing 'One Beat (Just Won't Do)'.
