Having emerged from the fusion of the Rastermusic and Noton labels in 1999, Raster-Noton has since established itself as the single most influential German platform for experimental electronic music. Run by Noton's Carsten Nicolai (a.k.a. Alva Noto) and Olaf Bender (a.k.a. Byetone, co-founder of Rastermusic alongside Frank Bretschneider), Raster-Noton's field of activity expands far beyond that of a traditional record label, encompassing work in design, media art and sonic research. The label's catalogue of over 70 releases includes works of renowned artists such as Ryoji Ikeda, Ivan Pavlov a.k.a. COH, Ryuichi Sakamoto or Carl Michael von Hausswolff.

Anne-James Chaton's approach of precision sliced and diced spoken word in 'Evenements 09' goes to the next level in this new collaboration. Carsten Nicolai as Alva Noto frames the spoken word with acute electronics and guitar fragments of Andy Moor in an eerie future-industrial style. Powerful and unique.
