Innervisions' sound philosophers Âme prove their floor-rocking talent with a live recorded EP, which sees the German duo not only reworking their own 'Enoi' from 2007 in epic fashion, but also two tracks by Underworld and UNKLE - bombastic jacker 'Crocodile' and subtle electro pop swinger, 'Hold My Hand'.

Instra:mental, Art Department, Panda Bear
The resurgence of classic electro was a surprising trend this month - check Instra:mental's stunning album below - but really fans of all styles and genres should have something to drool over, with Robag Wruhme, Kode9, Panda Bear, Art Department, Burial, more...
This distinct release on Innervisions sees Âme hook up with the global ambassadors of South African music, Amampondo. Across two versions of 'Ku Kanjani' Âme's hypnotic brand of techno meets Amampondo's characteristic Xhosa chants. Post-modern world music, impeccably executed.
Junggesellenmaschine
(Track 02 on this EP)
was reviewed:
Âme have always put quality before quantity and their only single release this year, 'Rrose Sélavy'', was yet another testament to the duo's greatness. 'Junggesellenmaschine's electro-acoustic percussions were held together by a strong melodic back-bone for one of this year's finest dance-floor anthems.
Junggesellenmaschine
(Track 02 on this EP)
A beautiful and subtle mix by Âme, who combine raw and soulful house flavours by the likes of Armando, STL, and Even Tuell with Moondog interludes, wildpitch magic, and even some Dettmann and F.U.S.E vs. LFO at the end. Sublime.

As Berlin's Berghain club has become nearly synonymous with the German capital's night-life scene over the past five years, its label, Ostgut Ton, has done an exquisite job of bringing the club's distinguished sounds of underground techno and house to the more...
Âme's only release for Ostgut, but what a big one it is. 'Fiori's original mix crosses over synthetic krautrock and techno in a way only the duo from Karlsruhe can pull it of, while the track's 'Club Mix' is a spiralling 16-minute monster. Epic.

This time around our 'House Music Special' might well be called a 'Krauthouse Special'. Germany's house music producers and labels have seemingly overtaken their US-based colleagues, at least regarding productivity and sheer quantity of output.
