Born in Tokyo, Japan, Akiko Kiyami's musical education began at a young age with a focus on classical. By the time she turned 14, however, her concentration had moved to the booming drum'n'bass scene that was coming out of London. Having made the commitment to pursue electronic music, Akiko decided to mix elements from both classical and techno in forming her own sound. Since the creation of her first tracks in 2002 with just the aid of a laptop, Akiko went on to release her first solo EP 'Dimension' in 2004 to great critical response. In 2007 Akiko made the move from her native Tokyo to current electronic mecca Berlin, and has since released several singles on labels such as Lick My Deck, Safari Electronique and District of Corruption.
