Originally hailing from Sacramento, California, curiously named dance-punk outfit !!! (pronounced 'chk chk chk') was formed in 1996, when several members of hardcore act Yah Mos decided to pursue a more dance-oriented direction. After several singles and their self-titled album from 2000, !!! were signed to London's Warp Records, where they soon came to represent a new, indie-oriented direction for the label. !!!'s psychedelic fusion of lupine post-punk bass patterns, spaghetti western guitars, African polyrhythms, house bleeps and vintage Philly soul has been enticing audiences and critics ever since.

Even after experiencing some major setbacks (the departure of original member, John Pugh, and death of drummer, Jerry Fuchs), on their fourth album (third for Warp Records), !!! show the fire that propelled their punk-funk band to fame almost one decade ago still burns brightly.
